"more" is the hypothesis prediction since that is the direction the researcher expects the data to come out. So if either there is no statistically significant difference between men and women's average tips OR the men actually tip less than the women the researcher's hypothesis prediction would be disconfirmed. If the men do tip more than the women the researcher's hypothesis prediction would be confirmed.
