What is "Blood and Honor"?
- "Blood and Honor" is a
web site that supports
musical groups some of whose lyrics may have racist overtones. The site is difficult
to read (red text of a black background. You can see it more clearly if you
highlight the entire thing (just click near a word and hit "control-A").
- I visited the site and checked out the lyrics from Skrewdriver's
album "Blood and Honor". Most of the lyrics bare a striking resemblance
to those of many punk rock bands; indeed, that's what they are! There is a
song (Prisoner of Peace) calling for the release of
Rudolf Hess
who died in 1987. Another song (Tomorrow is always too late) makes a
reference to
Spandau Prison where Hess and several others were detained for their war
crimes. But most of the songs are just angry with no racist overtones. Many of
the lyrics are actually pretty good (see This, for
example).
- There are also references to the late Ian Stewart.
Some of his lyrics can be found
here. Most of it is not racist, only angry.
- It's interesting to note some of the bands these guys
have played with including
Motörhead (you can download some
music too), the Boomtown Rats,
Siouxsie and the Banshees, and
(gasp!) the Police; one of my
favorite groups.
- The site does display multiple images of burning
swastikas and crosses and makes references to the National Socialist
Movement (see link below).
- What is a
Triskelion anyway? IT IS NOT
A SWASTIKA!
- Here is the important
part of the above link related to the swastika
- Examples
- That out of the way, the National Socialist Movement is
very disturbing.
