Populus Fix-Upbang.gif (7299 bytes)

New versions of Windows 95 and Windows 98 will not run the version of populus listed on the previous page. If you get a runtime error, try the following:

    1) Create a directory off your C: drive called "C:\Populus" (use Windows Explorer).

    2) Download pop34p.exe into that directory.

    3) Download the populusr.pif file I constructed into the \Populus directory. (Note, depending on the setup for your system, the "pif" extension may not show up).

    4) Unpack pop34p.exe by double-clicking on it.

    5) Run Populus by double-clicking on the populusr.pif file.

This should solve the problem. If it doesn't follow these directions:

    1) Right-click on "populusr.pif"

    2) Choose Properties from the pop-up menu.

    3) Click the "Memory tab" at the top of the properties menu.

    4) Set the conventional memory to the next-highest value (If you run out of room, go lower).

    5) Click the "Apply" button.

    6) Try "populusr.pif" again.
