We have successfully inserted the gene for Human Growth Hormone into

the tarantula genome. One experimental animal is shown here just prior to feeding.

Unfortunately, the experiment got out of hand. . .

This image shows a researcher in 1898 who achieved similar results by feeding spiders

successfully larger prey.
